10 tens is a hundred and 17 - 10 is 7. So, it is equal to 1 hundred and 7 tens.

Ten tenths equals one hundred so if you had one, one hundred and 10 tenths it would be the same thing and as for the 7 tenths it equals 70 for both. (Sorry if the answer is confusing)
