 [tex]y_1=4(5^x-1)[/tex] and [tex]y_2=5^x+1[/tex]

[tex]y_1=344+2y_2[/tex]
[tex]y_1=344+2(5^x+1)[/tex]
[tex]4(5^x-1) = 344 + 2(5^x+1)[/tex]
[tex](4)(5^x)-4=344+2(5^x)+2[/tex]
[tex]4(5^x)-2(5^x)=344+2+4[/tex]
[tex]2(5^x)=350[/tex]
[tex]5^x= \frac{350}{2} [/tex]
[tex]5^x=175[/tex]
[tex]log(5^x)=log(175)[/tex]
[tex]x(log(5))=log(175)[/tex]
[tex]x= \frac{log175}{log5} [/tex]
[tex]x=3.21[/tex] (rounded to two decimal places)
