The development that took place in exploring the Americas was to form a relationship between the European explorers like Cortez and Pizarro and the local indigenous people though it was mostly a barbaric relationship at first until intermarriage took place between the two peoples and a new culture at least in Latinamerica, developed. Mining also developed in a big way especially for gold and silver. New cities were also built, like Potosi in Bolivia that used to have 160,000 inhabitants at its heyday.
