About 200-300 thousand Chinese were converted to Christianity out of 300 million population.
Jesuit missionaries introduced many Western scientific concepts into China but were eventually discredited and Christianity failed to take hold in China. The reason was because Christianity demanded those who convert to stop all worship of traditional Chinese deities, miracles were seen as uneducated superstition, and the spiritual needs of China were covered by Buddhism, Confucianism, and Daoism.
