A method to help you solve problems with adding and subtracting integers is to make a number line. For this problem Go from -30 to positive 30 with 0 in the middle. When subtracting integers go left, when adding integers go right.
1.)-24+5= Go right 5 because you are adding 5. That's your answer.
2.) 15+(-3)= Go left 3 because the 3 is negative and adding a negative number basically gives you subtraction. That is the answer.
3.)-17+7= Go right 7 because you are adding 7. That's the answer.
4.) -10+ 28= Go right 28 because you 're adding 28. Then you have your answer.
5.)-13+(-3)= Like number 2 you go left 3 times.
6.)16-6= Go left 6 because you are subtracting 6.
7.)-12-6= Go left 6 because you are subtracting 6.
8.) 4-9= Go left 9 because you are subtracting 9.
