The continental drift, also known as the Pangea, is related to the formation of the earths oceans due to the fact that when the tectonic plates shifted, they seperated, allowing water to pass through, and became different oceans. So basically, what happened was that when the Pangea seperated, water flowed through the continents, creating what we know as now, "Oceans"
