The Second Battle of the Marne was significant because it was the last major German Spring Offensive on the Western Front during the First World War. The Germans were unable to carry out their attack properly because the Allies counterattacked (French and American forces) overwhelmed the Germans causing many injuries and casualties to the German army. This helped the Allies advance during the War and eventually become victors.
