1:At an amusement Park 360 visitors rode the roller coaster in 3 hours. Write and solve a proportion to find the number of visitors at this rate who will ride the roller coaster in 7 hours

2:For every person who has the flu, there are six people who only have flu-like symptoms. If a doctor sees 40 patients, determine absolutely how many patients you would expect to have only flu-like symptoms.

3:For every left handed person, there are about 4 right handed people. If there are 30 students in a class, predict the number of students who are right handed.

4:Jeremiah is saving money from a tutoring job. After the first three weeks, he saved $135. Assume the situation is proportional. Use the unit rate to write an equation relating the amount saved, s, to the number of weeks, w, worked. At this rate, how much will Jeremiah save after eight weeks?

for 2, i did 40 ÷ 6 and got 6.66 but than only 36 people would've come in, not 40, so you do 7, and so the next 2 ppl will have flu-like symptoms

1. 360/3 = x / 7......360 visitors to 3 hrs = x visitors to 7 hrs
    cross multiply
   (3)(x) = (360)(7)
    3x = 2520
     x = 2520 / 3
     x = 840.....so for 7 hrs, there will be 840 visitors riding

2. ratio is 1 with flu to 6  who have flu-like symptoms.....1:6...added = 7
    1/7(40) = 40/7 = 5.7...rounds to 6
    6/7(40) = 240/7 = 34.3...rounds to 34 <== flu like symptoms

3. ratio is 1 left handed to 4 right handed....1:4.....added = 5
   1/5(30) = 30/5 = 6 left handed
    4/5(30) = 120/5 = 24 right handed <==

4. 135/3 = 45 per week was saved
    s = 45w <== ur equation

   after 8 weeks...w = 8
   s = 45(8)
   s = 360 <== he will have saved $ 360 after 8 weeks
