In terms of the SPAT Cornell Collaborative for Oyster farming, expand and reflect upon the following: 1. Sustainability of resources used in aquaculture, 2. Elimination of over-fishing of wild species for aquaculture, 3. Limiting impacts of aquaculture on aquatic biodiversity, 4. Maintaining sustainability in fish feed practices, 5. Preventing escapees and consequent effects on wild populations, 6. Limiting the release of organic matter into natural waters, 7. Preventing the discharge of antibacterial and chemical residues into natural environment, 8. Avoiding weakness in spatial planning and competition with other local activities, 9. Resilience- ability to respond to changing markets, natural disasters, climate change, etc.
