it’s 46 mi / 1 gallon but i don’t know how to solve for the cost of 1,000 miles per month

1).  In order to cover 1,000 miles, how many times to you have to drive 46 miles ?     1,000 ÷ 46  =  21.74 times

2).  Well, each of those 21.74 times will burn 1 gallon.

So your cost per month is (21.74) x (cost of 1 gallon).
