y=(-5/7)x+5

Subtract 5x over to the right side to isolate y. then divide everything by 7. Hope this helps
x and y are variables

remember, you can do anything to an equaiton as long as you do it to both sides

5x+7y=35
add -5x to both sides
-5x+5x+7y=35-5x
0x+7y=35-5x
7y=35-5x
divide both sides by 7
[tex]\frac{7y}{7}=\frac{35-5x}{7}[/tex]
[tex](\frac{7}{7})y=(\frac{35}{7})+(\frac{-5x}{7})[/tex]
[tex](1)y=(5)-\frac{5x}{7}[/tex]
[tex]y=\frac{-5x}{7}+5[/tex]
