Hydrogen bonding occurs when the hydrogen atom in a molecule is bonded to an electronegative atom. The electronegativity of the atom attracts the electrons present in the bond to move toward it, creating a partial negative charge. Consequently, the hydrogen atom is left with a partial positive charge. These charges cause the molecules to be attracted to one another.

Metallic bonds
- Metallic bonds are types of bonds that occur in metallic structure of metals. It occurs between the positively charged nucleus and the negatively charged sea of electrons surrounding an atom.
Dipole-dipole interactions
- It is a type of interaction that occurs as a result of interaction between two polar molecules. The interaction is due to attraction of a partial positive charged atom in a molecule and the partial negative atom in the second molecule.
