Approximating with a Distribution: You will work with one of the categorical variables from the data you collected.
Variable: Studio
Category: Pixar: 11/30 movies are made by Pixar
1. Find the proportion for one of the categories of the variable. Enter the data into StatKey (https://www.lock5stat.com/StatKey/randomization_1_cat/randomization_1_cat.html) Randomization for a Single Proportion to get the Standard Error for the data. Give me the name of the variable, the actual proportion of one of the categories and the Standard Error from StatKey for that category.
2. Write the Hypotheses, using the correct notation, needed to test to see if there is evidence that the proportion for that category is greater than 0.50.
3. Find the Test statistic using the actual proportion, hypothesized proportion, and standard error.
4. Using the Theoretical Normal Distribution on StatKey, find the p-value for the Test Statistic you calculated in the previous problem.
5. Give me the conclusion of the test using a significance level of 0.05.
6. Find the value of z* using the Theoretical Normal Distribution for a 99% confidence interval. Use this value of z*, the actual proportion, and the standard error to construct the 99% confidence interval for this category of the variable, by hand. Show your work.
