From 1650-1850 many europeans were colonizing the Americas. While they were all colonizing they went about it very differently. The Spanish were coming to the americas with the goal being to spread catholicism during the Spanish inquisition. They often enslaved Natives or tried to convert them. The French had different motives, they didn't really care about colonizing new areas instead they were more interested in setting up trade with the natives in modern Canada. They often intermarried with natives and had little conflict. The English during this time period mostly ignored the Native Americans. They were driven by wanting to practice puritan beliefs after they split from the anglican church.
