2. a: A dependent variable is something that depends on another variable. In this case it would be the number of gallons of gas, I would assume, because how much gas you put in affects how many miles you drive.
b: Yes, it is, because it's a ratio, 2:62, that stays the same. I would say the equation would be Number of Gallons of Gas * 31 = Number of Miles Driven. Probably. Hopefully.
c: Yes, one will always be bigger, the Number of Miles Driven, because it will increase by 31 compared to Number of Gallons of Gas' 1. (IDK if that's a good explanation)
d: Yes, you can. Since the ratio is apparently 2:62, or 1:31, just multiply the number by 31.
e: Yes, again, you can. If you multiplied the Number of Gallons of Gas to get the Number of Miles Driven, just do the opposite function to go the other way, or division, AKA Number of Miles Driven divided by Number of Gallons of Gas.
f: As I stated in D (not really but whatever), just multiply 18 by 31 to get 558. 558 miles
g: Divide this time. 18/31 gallons.
h: Again, multiply 1/2 by 31 to get 15.5 miles.
    i: umm. 1/62 gallons.

that took a long time.
