Americans live in a Capitalist country where you keep what you make after paying taxes. It is a democracy and people come to the US to achieve the American dream, to be able to make their own decisions and earn their own money. Most Americans do not support income redistribution. People in socialist and communist societies are more likely to support it because the focus is that everyone has the same.
