Assuming you know what a theme is, you will look at a myriad of stories you have read throughout your life.
You then must determine the theme of those stories, by using different strategies to find textual evidence to support your findings.
By strategies, it just means something such as focusing on just a quick read through and getting a general idea. Then, dive a bit deeper and maybe highlight pieces of text which may help support the theme you've found.
