The position of an object at time t is given by s(t) = -1 - 13t. Find the instantaneous velocity at t = 8 by finding the derivative.

Since it's addition or subtraction, we can simply just add up the derivatives. The derivative of any number is 0, and the derivative of anything with t is the coefficient with t, in this case -13. Therefore, the derivative is 0-13=-13
