The visible spectrum refers to the portion of the electromagnetic spectrum that we can see. Visible light includes red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet and this represents only a small section of the spectrum. This small section of the spectrum is extremely important as half of the energy given off by the sun is visible light.
