As given Q is the midpoint of GH. SO it will divide GH in two equal parts. We can also say GQ is half of GH.
So we can write

As given GQ = 2x+3 , GH = 5x - 5
[tex]2x + 3 = \frac{5x - 5}{2} [/tex]
[tex]2(2x+3) = 5x - 5[/tex]
[tex]4x + 6 = 5x - 5[/tex]
[tex]6+5 = 5x - 4x[/tex]
11 = x
So GQ = 2x+ 3 = 2*11 + 3 = 25
So we can write

As given GQ = 2x+3 , GH = 5x - 5
