Brandon is going to earn a little money this summer by mowing lawns in his neighborhood. He plans to charge $7.00 per yard and he has his schedule worked out for the first two weeks of summer. In the first week he will mow 19 lawns and he plans to mow 14 lawns in the second week. How much will Brandon earn in the first week? How much will he earn in the second week? Brandon wants to but an ipod that costs $287.00. How many more lawns will he need to mow before he can buy the ipod?

He will earn $133 in his first week and $98 on his second week . You add that up and he has $231. Then you subtract $231 from $287 and he has to pay $56 more . If you divide that by $7.00 he will need to do 8 more lawns.

so in the first week Brandon earns $133. In order to find how many more lawns he needs to mow in order to get $287.00. you need to do this:

1: $287 - $133 = $154

2 because Brandon earned $133 already he can subtract that from $287, so now all he needs is $154.

3. if Brandon need $154 he needs to do this:

1- lawn will equal = $7 so to make this simple he needs to do 19 more lawns and see were his money is. If he does 19 more lawns he will earn $133.

2- now that Brandon has $133 he can subtract that from $154 so that is = $21.

4.  Brandon now only has $ 21 to pay and $7 * 3 lawns will equal $21.

5: Brandon will mow a total of 22 lawns in order to make $287.
