The reason as to why Seattle is warmer in the winter than Yellowstone is because there are factors that affect its temperature such as the ocean in which Seattle is near in, the ocean has provided a more tropical climate, the reason why Seattle is warmer in the winter compared to Yellowstone.
Answer:
Seattle and Yellowstone, both are located at the same latitudes but they experience different types of weather conditions. Seattle is in the western part of North America and is a low elevated area in comparison to the Yellowstone.
Seattle experiences a comparatively warmer temperature than the Yellowstone. It is due to the low elevation of Seattle i.e only about 160m from the mean sea level. Within this region, the air molecules are quite dense and tightly packed. Due to which it starts contracting and subsequently gets heated up forming a much warmer air mass. But Yellowstone lies at about 2500m above the mean sea level. At this high elevation, the molecules of air are very less and they remain scattered. Due to this, the expansion of air molecules takes place and eventually, it cools.
Therefore, Seattle remains warmer as compared to Yellowstone during the winter season.
