The table below shows the temperature of ocean water in degrees celsius at different depths in meters: depth (meters) 0 500 1,000 1,500 2,000 2,500 3,000 3,500 4,000 temperature (degrees celsius) 23.5 12 6 4.2 4 3.8 3 2.8 2 which scatter plot best represents the data in the table

Respuesta :

A scatter plot is a type of graph which plots the data points without connecting them. The purpose is to create any trend for the data points, whether it is a linear, exponential, or parabolic trend. The first thing to do is tabulate your data, one column for each parameter for depth and temperature. You should distinguish which of the two is dependent or independent. Since the temperature most likely depends on the depth, temperature is placed on the y-axis and depth is placed on the x-axis.

The scatter plot is shown in the attached picture. You can see a general trend of a curve that starts at the top and curving down as the height increases. It eventually levels of at the end. This means that at great depths, the temperature gets closest to 0°C.
