So, nuclear power plants are interesting. Many people may automatically assume that they will 'pollute' our atmosphere, but they do not produce pollution!
There is one very serious issue with nuclear power plants, however. If not handled properly, we can spill serious radioactive material. This material can be deadly.
Another issue is that it is not a renewable source. It won't last forever, so we will eventually have to find another alternative.
On the flip side, nuclear energy is extremely efficient and powerful. It is also a fairly clean way to gather energy, which makes it an attractive option knowing the state of our environment.
