He helped negotiate an end to the Russo-Japanese War.

Theodore Roosevelt won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1906 for negotiating the end of the Russo-Japanese War through the Treaty of Portsmouth.
He won the Nobel peace prize mainly for the efforts of trying to end war between Russia and Japan (Russo-Japanese) . Roosevelt send an invitation to Japan and Russia to send the U.S delegates where he would then mediate between them to try and end the war . Roosevelt wanted to do this because he believed that great powers like Russia and Japan should have their own” spheres of influence “ and should not try to take spheres from anyone
