Hey!

Let's write the problem.
[tex]0.3\left(n-5\right)=0.4-0.2\left(n-7\right)[/tex]
Since we don't want any decimals, we will multiply both sides by [tex]10[/tex].
[tex]0.3\left(n-5\right)\cdot \:10=0.4\cdot \:10-0.2\left(n-7\right)\cdot \:10[/tex]
[tex]3\left(n-5\right)=4-2\left(n-7\right)[/tex]
Apply the distributive property...
[tex]3n-15=-2n+18[/tex]
Add [tex]15[/tex] to both sides...
[tex]3n-15+15=-2n+18+15[/tex]
[tex]3n=-2n+33[/tex]
Add [tex]2n[/tex] to both sides.
[tex]3n+2n=-2n+33+2n[/tex]
[tex]5n=33[/tex]
Divide both sides by [tex]5[/tex]...
[tex]\frac{5n}{5}=\frac{33}{5}[/tex]
Simplify...
[tex]n=\frac{33}{5}[/tex]
