A patient who is 60 years old c/o low back pain for the last 5-6 weeks. she states the severity is about 4/10 and that she gets no relief from sitting, standing, or lying. the np should consider:
what medications she is on, or what other conditions the pt. has..4 out of 10, I think is a low pain index. when the patient is up to 6-7, that would call for the pain meds.
