In the early 1770s, many radical revolutionaries were committed to the slogan of “no taxation without representation. in what ways was this a justification/excuse for war? and in what ways did it accurately reflect the challenges faced by the colonists?

This justification was used as an excuse to began the Revolutionary War because the more the colonists tried to have equal say in government, the more control that was put on them. The colonists had not originally wanted to go to war, but has instead wanted the king to stop requiring taxes or allow them equal representation in Parliament. This was a great challenge for colonists because they were so suppressed by the "lobster-backs" (the royal guards) and the loyalists.
