If there is a medication patch on the victim's chest while EMT preparing to use an automated external defibrillator, then the action that must be taken is to remove the patch.
The defibrillator must contact the skin. If the patch is blocking the skin, then the defibrillator could not work. It's okay to leave the patch if it is not near defibrillator placing area
