In the state of Kansas, people are poaching deer. One example is of a man named Tim Donges. He saved up money to buy land in Kansas. He is an avid hunter, and had hunted in numerous states over the years. He described in a news article about waking up hearing rifles,being outside with family on Thanksgiving with bullets from poachers ricocheting off his barn. He found deer carcasses in his field with their heads cut off for their trophy antlers. In Kansas, the fines can be up to $50,000 and jail time.
