An oceanographer specialized in marine biology and ecology will study the interaction of marine animals and plants with each other and with the oceanic water.
Therefore, oceanographer is a scientist which can be called upon to study the interaction of species of starfish called as the crown of thorns with the coral reefs all around the world. The oceanographer can also find out the abundance of starfish species around the world.
