acids:

*sour tasting
*examples vinegar, lemon juice, HCI
* reacts with metals and carbonates
* turns litmus red and cabbage dye red
bases:
*gives off OH-ions when dissolved in water
*bitter tasting
*examples are soap, baking soda, and NaOH
*turns litmus blue and cabbage dye green
Based on that i think its reacts with metals.
