Yes it is. The reason for this is because whole numbers have a 1 in their denominator. So if you were to do $\frac{2}{1} * \frac{5}{8}$, this would give you 10/8, and if you were to do $\frac{10}{1} * \frac{1}{8}$, you would also get 10/8.
