(08.06 LC) Ben is 5 years older than Wendy. Ben's age is 11 years less than three times Wendy's age. The system below models the relationship between Ben's age (b) and Wendy's age (w): b = w + 5 b = 3w – 11 Which is the correct method to find Ben's and Wendy's ages? Solve b + 5 = 3b – 11 to find the value of b. Write the points where the graphs of the equations intersect the x-axis. Write the points where the graphs of the equations intersect the y-axis. Solve w + 5 = 3w – 11 to find the value of w.

Respuesta :

b=w+5 and b=3w-11

there are many ways to solve
lets see what they gave us

the first one is wrong, it should be w+5=3w-11

the 2nd one is wrong because it should be where they intersect, not just the x intercepts

3rd one is wrong as well because like the previous one, we find intersection

4th one is correct because b=w+5, so we subsitte w+5 for b in b=3w-11

and if we did solve we get w=8 and b=13
