There are seven major types of imagery, each corresponds to a sense, feeling, or action:
Visual imagery applies to graphics, visual scenes, pictures, or the sense of sight in general.
Auditory imagery applies to sounds, noises, music, or the sense of hearing. (Another form might be onomatopoeia).
Olfactory imagery applies to scents or the sense of smell.
Gustatory imagery applies to flavors or the sense of taste.
Tactile imagery applies to physical textures or the sense of touch.
