The Pythagorean Theorem states that [tex]a^2+b^2=c^2[/tex], where a and b are the legs of a right triangle and c is the hypotenuse of the same triangle.

A^2 + B^2 = C^2, if C is the hypotenuse of a right angled triangle and A and B are the shorter sides.
