A user reports hearing a beep during the boot sequence. What does this indicate to the technician?
1. The system is working correctly.
2. The system has failed the POST.
3. The BIOS can not find the boot loader.
4. The boot loader can not find the operating system.

Respuesta :

Most of the PCs are using Compaq BIOS Beep code,  then no errors

If AMI or AST BIOS are used, then there will be a different story.

You can search different BIOS Beep code online if you are interested.

Answer:

4. The system is working correctly.

Explanation:

The computer POST (power-on self-test) checks a computer's internal hardware for compatibility and connection before starting the remainder of the boot process. If the computer passes the POST, the computer may give a single beep (some computers may beep twice) as it starts and continues to boot.
