I believe it is the Great Migration

The correct answer is the Great Migration.

The Great Migration ( 1916-1970)  was the relocation of more than 6 million African Americans from the rural South to the cities in the North, Midwest and the West.

The Great Migration happened because of harsh segregation laws in the South, poor economy and lack of jobs in the southern regions. The North promised more economic opportunities, especially for industrial workers in the aftermath of World War I.

The Great Migration was the root of the black urban culture in cities. The most prominent example of growing black influence was the creation of Harlem, which became a symbol of a black solidarity in a neighborhood.

It also resented economic and political challenges to black people giving them opportunities they did not have before.
