At some point, many children being to internalize gender policing, becoming involved in SELF-POLICING as a way to avoid being ostracized, targeted, or simply found “wanting.”
Self-policing happened when the children started to blame themselves for not meeting the standard that are expected by the society regarding their gender roles.
