Wildlife is a renewable natural resource with excesses and because most animal reproduces themselves so quickly, hunters helps in controlling the wildlife population so that the habitat can have a healthy balance.
Controlled hunting activities don’t pose any risk to the wildlife population. Hunters are very important in the wildlife management. They give some vital information that the wildlife managers need.
Some of important areas that hunters have helped many game and non-game species from recovering from population decline have been the funding from hunting licenses.
Animals that are allowed to be hunted as classified as Game species while animals that are not allowed to be hunted are classified as Non-Game species.
Since 1937, hunters and anglers have contributed over $10 billion towards wildlife life management. Some of the sources of funding are through 10% to 12% excise tax on shooting, hunting and angling sport equipment.
Hunters plays huge role in wildlife management. No group in the society has contributed to wildlife conversation than hunters. Hunters contribute money, time and effort.
Apart from these commitment, hunters also plays a major role in sustaining game population by way of funding though the Pittman-Robertson Act, taking parts in surveys, providing samples from animals that are harvested and many more.
