When dealing with a mixture of two substances that traveled with the solvent front, the best thing to do is to use paper chromatography method to separate them. Paper chromatography method is made up of two phases; the stationary and the mobile phases. When the mixture is spotted on the chromatography paper, the two substances in the mixture will travel through the chromatography paper at different speeds, thus getting separated in the process.
