let x = weight to be blended we know that the total weight will be 100p, and its price will be $6.35/pthen, x • $8.75/p + (100p - x) • $3.75 = 100p • $6.35 x$8.75/p + $375 - $3.75/p = $635/p x$5.00/p = $260/p x = 52p100 - x = 48p Proof: 52p x $8.75/p + 48p x $3.75/p = $6.35 x 100p$455 + $180 = $635
