There are many factors as to why teens get into drugs. For example, some teenagers come from broken or abusive households. It's either their parent(s) isn't there or they are afraid to be there at all. Drugs give them time to ignore the problems they deal with on a regular basis. Some people are simply pulled into it, whether by peers or family members. Many teens also suffer from depression and other mental illnesses and use drugs as a means of escape from the effects of their mental illness.

Peer pressure.

- Drug abuse can be regarded as excessive use of psychoactive drugs. These drugs could be alcohol or illegal drugs.
- However, factors that contribute to this among teenagers are peer pressure, they want to practice what others teenager are practicing, the influence of their mate that are abusing drugs could actually turn them to drug abuser.
- Broken home, is another factor, both parents are not too overseas the affairs of their teenager, hence those teenager get their advice from outside either good or bad and they will practice it.
