Brad is testing three solutions with litmus paper. After dipping the litmus paper strips in the solutions, he observes two papers turning blue and one turning red. Out of the three solutions, how many are acidic?
Only one solution is acidic. On a normal litmus test, lower pH levels turn red, while higher ones cause the paper to turn blue. The lower the pH, the more acidic the substance is, therefore, the one red solution must be an acid.
