Well, we know they both equal y, so we can say 1/3*x - 2 = 1/4x + 11
That, is technically a system of equations, unless you're looking for a fancy way for it to be input into a calculator?
You can solve for x this way too, by moving all x values onto one side, and all constants onto the other.
To solve this in a different way, you can also say:
3y − x = −6
4y − x = 44
Because
1/3x - 2 = y can be rearranged as y - 1/3x = -2, which can be multiplied out to be
3y - x = -6
The same goes for 1/4x + 11 = y, wherein it can be rearranged to y - 1/4x = 11, and multiplied out to be 4y - x = 44
