Following the union defeat at fredericksburg in december 1862, president lincoln replaced general burnside with _______.

Respuesta :

General Burnside was replaced by General Joseph in the year 1863. General Joseph assumes the duty of Ambrose Burnside's heartbreaking residency. General Joseph's arrangement was a piece of President Abraham Lincoln's disappointing procedure of finding a triumphant general in the East.

Lincoln trusted General Joseph could overcome Confederate General Robert E. Lee. It was a difficult request, however, and General Joseph was not up to the test. In May 1863, General Joseph conflicted with Lee at the Battle of Chancellorsville, Virginia, and the Union armed force endured a conclusive and dazzling annihilation. Lincoln's look for a successful leader proceeded, and in the mid-year of 1863 General Joseph was supplanted with George Meade.
