Let understand that "Great Chicago Fire" happened in the 1871 and was believed to be caused by animal who tampered with a fuel which lead to the fire.

  • The widely accepted cause of the fire looked need questioning because the ability to burn over a lot distance requires time.

Now, if the inability of firefighter to quench the fire before escalating was because of wrong information of location initially given, then i would like to draw two research question:
