Mark's transition can be described as continuous. Continuous transition is defined as the adaptability of a child to perform works of an adult bit by bit. In here, Mark has been helping his father in the farm ever since he was a child until 30 years later, he also taught this to his son.
Mark had shown improvement and wanted to teach the same knowledge and skills he has learned from his father to his son. The family values of continuity had made Mark acquire the things he had now. He believed that these are necessary for his son to be trained and be self-reliant through the process.
