lets set up our problem.

We need to multiply our recipe by 2. soo..

[tex] 2\frac{1}{2} [/tex] × [tex] \frac{2}{1} [/tex]

But we have to change our 2 and 1/2 fraction into an improper fraction.

So you multiply the denominator and add the numerator to get the new numerator. So 2 x 2 +1 = 5 and the old denominator stays the same. 5/2

Now we can multiply.

[tex] \frac{5}{2} [/tex] × [tex] \frac{2}{1} [/tex] = [tex] \frac{10}{2} [/tex]

10 ÷ 2 = 5

So this means that you will need 5 pounds of cream cheese in order to make 2 cheese cakes. - Yum

Good Luck! :)
