Answer: Competition, sunlight or water

Limiting factor is the one which limits the growth, abundance and distribution of the population of the species. The limiting factor can be natural or man-made. The natural limiting factor includes food, water, habitat, predation, natural calamity like earthquakes. The man-made limiting factors include the forest fires, bomb explosion and others.

The competition is a limiting factor, which can be interspecific or intraspecific. The competition can occur among members of the different species or it can be among the members of the same species The competition can occur due to factors such as food, shelter and mates. The competition will occur, and the strong individual likely to survive and this will lead to decrease in the population of the species.

Sunlight or water can also become limiting factors such as in the absence of sunlight or water the abundance and growth of the photosynthesizing organisms can be reduced.
